What: LAPD Launches New School Year Just Say No Rallies! 950 students at Inner City Elementary School Will Be Impacted.

When: Friday, October 5, 2018 1:00pm to 2:20pm

12 p.m.-Event set-up.

1 p.m – Introductions and discussion w/ students about the importance of say no to drugs, gangs, crime, and bullying.

1:15 p.m.-All student take “Just Say No” pledge.

1:20 p.m.-Prize giveaways, Prize Drawings, Contests (hola hoop contests for bikes, dance move contest, rap contest for great prizes!)

Tour of Police Vehicles and Equipment

2 p.m.-LAPD Helicopter Fly over

2:10 p.m.-LAPD Officers Michael Scott and Officer Aaron Thompson perform their “Just Say No” rap song.

2:20 p.m.-Officers drop the mic and event ends.

Where: 92nd Street Elementary 9211 Grape Street Los Angeles, CA 90002

Who: Los Angeles Police Department Officers 950 students, teachers, and staff

Why: 92nd Street Elementary’s teaching staff had all of their 950 students write pledges about the importance of saying no to drugs, gangs, crime, and bullying. In response LAPD is responding with their one of a kind Just Say No School Rally! They’ll be anti-drug, gangs, crime, and bullying demonstrations and discussions, prize drawings, hula hoop, dance, and rap contests, music, and LAPD Officers as DJ and doing rap performance. LAPD requires all students to write and submit a pledge before a rally is scheduled. There are 12 more Just Say No Rallies at LA elementary schools across the city through December. Over 6,000 elementary students will be positively impacted with these rallies.
