LAPD Media Day at EVOC

Granada Hills – On Saturday, May 13, 2000, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, the Los Angeles Police Department, Emergency Vehicle Operations Center, will host its first annual "Media Day 2000" at the new Edward M. Davis Emergency Vehicle Operations Center, located in Granada Hills.

The Emergency Vehicle Operations Center (EVOC) consists of a 4.4-mile driver-training track, which includes: two skid recovery areas, collision avoidance simulator and skills area. Media Day will allow media personnel an opportunity to experience the same quality training as academy recruits from highly trained EVOC instructors.

Media personnel will be allowed to film the events of the day as well as interview the LAPD driving instructors. The four-hour training event will take place at the Edward M. Davis training facility, located at:
