LAPD Mounted Unit Saves Horses from Firestorm

Los Angeles: On October 27, 2003, Metropolitan Division Mounted Unit in conjunction with various citizen groups assisted Simi Valley residents moved their horses out of fire danger and to safety. One hundred twenty horses were transported to three locations in the Valley: Pierce College, Lopez Canyon and a Dog Park located at Zelza and Victory Boulevard.
Once the fire danger has subsided owners will be reunited with their equine.
