Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) face off against Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) in the 15th annual Fight for Life Boxing Event, benefiting City of Hope. The Fight for Life started in 1994 when Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies befriended a cancer-stricken boy and made a commitment to improve the quality of his life and that of his family.  Since that time, they turned to the LAPD to join them in their efforts to help others in similar situations, and the partnership continues to this day.

During the event, there will be a special tribute to Central Traffic Division Motor Officer Carlos Torres, who lost his battle with leukemia earlier in the year.
