WHY:
To help celebrate the holiday season, the Los Angeles Police Department has partnered with various donors and supporters to give back to the community they serve.  The 2nd Annual “Operation Shoes from Santa” will feature over 1,000 pairs of shoes that will be distributed to pre-designated children from schools within the Olympic area community.

Officers from Olympic Area will also transform the police station into a winter wonderland with real snow on the ground for children to play in.  Additionally, Home Depot will participate by sponsoring an on-site “Santa’s Workshop” where children will be able to build and paint crafts.  During the Holiday Shoe event, the media will have the opportunity to meet the families who are receiving these gifts and share their personal stories.
