LAPD Participate in Avon Breast Cancer Crusade

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s own spokesperson, Commander Sharon Papa will be participating in the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade. Commander Papa will walk approximately 60 miles from Santa Barbara to Malibu along with over 3000 people. They will each be covering approximately 20 miles per day.
Since the inception of the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade in 1993, the organization’s mission has been to provide medical under-served women with direct access to breast cancer services. Each participant, agrees to raise a minimum of $1,900 for the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade, which goes to transmitting the message about early detection, to hundreds of thousands of women across America, and supports cutting edge medical research on breast cancer. To date, Commander Papa has raised over $10,000 toward the event. The net proceeds from the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day will fund non-profit breast health programs.
