Avoid the 40 Program sobriety checkpoints

Vermont Avenue between Hollywood Boulevard and Barnsdall Avenue
Imperial Highway between San Pedro Street and Main Street
Sherman Way between Lurline Boulevard and Desoto Boulevard

Who:
40 law enforcement agencies

Why:
The Avoid the 40 Program is a multi-agency law enforcement program within Los Angeles County created to combat the issue of driving under the influence.

The program consist of 40 law enforcement agencies that combine forces to conduct sobriety checkpoints throughout the County on a periodic basis.

Funding for the checkpoints come from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration.
