LAPD Personnel to Participate in Heroes Day at Dodgers Stadium

Sworn and civilian employees of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) participate in a pre-game ceremony that pays tribute to public safety officials.

WHY:     
Annually, the Los Angeles Dodgers honors and recognizes the contribution that public safety officials make to the people of Los Angeles and surrounding areas.
   
During the pre-game activities, Matthew and Gabrielle Simmons, the children of fallen Officer Randall Simmons will partake in the ceremonial first pitch & catch ceremony and static displays of law enforcement related equipment and vehicles will be displayed throughout the stadium’s parking lot.  Also included in the day’s events, will be the performance by the LAPD Emerald Society Pipe Band, a fly over by both LAPD and LAFD helicopters, the Colors Presentation by the United States Marine Corp, and the National Anthem sung by LAPD Officer Rosalind Curry.
