LAPD Preparation for Democratic National Convention

Los Angeles – On Tuesday, August 8, 2000, at 12:00 noon, representatives from the Los Angeles Police Department Wilshire Area Community Police Station will brief the media regarding its preparations for the Democratic National Convention which is scheduled for August 14-17, 2000 in the City of Los Angeles. All community members are invited to attend and participate in the briefing in front of Wilshire Area Community Police Station located at 4861 W. Venice Boulevard, Los Angeles 90019.

Representatives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section will also be on hand to answer questions regarding the Department’s preparations for the Democratic National Convention.

Additionally, the press corps/media is asked to remind members of the public that Wilshire Area Community Police Station is still seeking Korean-speakers to volunteer at the Wilshire Area Community Police Station front desk during the Democratic National Convention (August 14-17, 2000). Persons able to translate Korean to English and vice-versa are especially needed.
