LAPD Salutes Current LA District Attorney Gil Garcetti and Welcomes LA District Attorney-Elect Steve Cooley

On November 8, 2000, with 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Candidate Steve Cooley was elected to be the next Los Angeles County District Attorney. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is appreciative to District Attorney Garcetti for his eight years of leadership in the District Attorney’s Office and service to the Los Angeles community.

The Department also extends congratulations to Mr. Steve Cooley on his election to be the next Los Angeles Country District Attorney. As always, it is with anticipation that the men and women of the Los Angeles Police Department look forward to maintaining and enhancing a professional and harmonious relationship with the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, under its new leadership.
