WHY: The LAPD Southwest Public Safety Youth Conference’s goal is to glean advice, concerns and recommendations on deterring crime, public safety, and community policing, from the perspective of the youth in our Los Angeles communities. The Commander Homer F. Broome Jr. Family Educational Outreach Foundation will also be present as they are a tutoring and educational resource for youth in the community. The Youth Conference is comprised, planned and hosted of 250-300 youth representatives from over 30 high schools and youth organizations in the Southwest Area, including Southwest Area Teen Community-Police Advisory Board.
