The people of Los Angeles County have elected a new District Attorney and the Los Angeles Police Department stands ready to work with DA elect George Gascón as he assumes the leadership over the largest prosecuting agency in the Nation.

The men and women of the LAPD also extends its appreciation and gratitude to outgoing DA Jackie Lacey for her life-long public service to the people of Los Angeles County. During DA Lacey’s many decades of service and specifically her time as District Attorney, she has demonstrated her relentless commitment to justice and needed reforms.

Chief Moore stated, “Congratulations to DA elect George Gascón and welcome back home. I am committed to working with him and his leadership team in the pursuit of justice including the path of continued reforms. I also want to thank outgoing DA Jackie Lacey on her many years of public service to the people of this City and County. Her work fighting violent crime, safeguarding children from sex traffickers, and finding meaningful alternatives to the criminal justice system for those suffering from mental illness is unmatched.”
