LAPD to Dedicate New Communication’s Building

Los Angeles – On Monday, July 16, 2001, at 10:00 A.M., the Los Angeles Police Department will be dedicating the Valley Communications Dispatch Center, located at 23001 Roscoe Boulevard, Canoga Park. Los Angeles Police Chief Bernard C. Parks will host the building dedication. Invitees include Mayor James Hahn, numerous city officials and, LAPD staff. Tours of the facility will follow the brief ceremony.
When completed, the new three story, 56,000 sq. ft. building will house a 15,000 sq. ft. state of the art Operations Center with 80 computer consoles, indirect lighting, sound absorption and for the first time for LAPD dispatchers, and windows. Operational debut of the center is scheduled for next year.
