WHAT: Volunteer Community Patrol Program.

WHO: Councilmember Bob Blumenfield, District No. 3 Councilmember Paul Koretz, District No. 5 LAPD Captain Beverly A. Lewis, Area Commanding Officer, West Valley Division West Valley Area Community Patrol Volunteers

WHY: To launch the Volunteer Community Patrol Program (VCPP) consists of trained volunteers operating “marked” non-emergency City vehicles to conduct focused community patrol activities. The VCCP volunteers will conduct community patrol mainly in areas impacted by property crimes. Volunteers may also be delegated non-hazardous tasks and duties to assist in relieving officers from responsibilities that do not require a sworn officer.
