Why: The LAPD and LASD have teamed with the Los Angeles Dodgers to create special edition baseball cards. The cards will feature a Dodgers player and a member of either the LAPD or LASD. At the press conference, Sheriff McDonnell and Chief Beck will discuss their agencies involvement in the development of this program and their hopes for what these cards will bring to the youth who receive them.

Thirty-four years ago the LAPD and Dodgers instituted a baseball card program to build a bridge between the community and law enforcement. A generous contribution from the LA Police Foundation has brought back this proud LAPD/ Los Angeles Dodgers tradition. We are excited to have LASD joining us in this endeavor.
