To raise awareness about cancer, learn the importance of cancer prevention and pay tribute to
those affected by cancer.
On the day of the event, participants will have the option of riding the Infraction Route (15 miles), Misdemeanor Route (25 miles) or Felony Route (50 miles). LAPD motor and bike officers will escort the cyclists through the diverse neighborhoods of the San Fernando Valley and make brief stops at Valley community police stations then return to the Valley Traffic Division for a BBQ Lunch and Health and Wellness Fair. They will also visit with officers from some of the Department’s specialized units including Air Support Division, the K-9 Unit and the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team.
All proceeds from the Ride to Arrest Cancer event will directly benefit the Los Angeles Police Cancer Support Group (LAPCSG). The mission of the LAPCSG is to provide the law enforcement community, which includes sworn, civilian, active and retired personnel and their families with a starting place when diagnosed with cancer. LAPCSG offers understanding, strength and support and educates the law enforcement community regarding the importance of cancer prevention, early detection, screening and routine physical examinations.
