Los Angeles: On Saturday, October 18, 2003, The Los Angeles Police Department’s Recruitment Division will host a to celebrate the end of National Hispanic Heritage Month. This recruitment event is targeting the Hispanic community in the Southern California Area. It will also continue the Department’s aggressive recruitment campaign to recruit potential candidates.
Interested candidates will have the opportunity to take the police officer written exam at 8:00 a.m., and at 1:00 p.m.
The event will showcase the LAPD’s specialized units such as K-9, SWAT, and the Bomb Squad. Live entertainment will include local talents and celebrities, such as Mauricio Cienfuegos of the Los Angeles Galaxy Soccer Team. Food and refreshments will be made available to all attendees. A free diabetes health screening will also be made available to everyone in attendance. Two speaker panels will be opened for questions from the audience, one of which will consist of all female officers.
