February 6, 2015

Los Angeles: In an effort to reduce property and violent crimes in the Topanga area, the Los Angeles Police Department conducted a multi-agency task force to ensure all parolees and probationers in the area were in compliance with their release terms.

On Thursday, February 5, 2015, Topanga Area officers along with Los Angeles County Probation and Parole agents conducted a compliance check on 35 parolees and probationers who lived in the Topanga Area. The compliance checks were conducted at 32 of the 35 locations. As a result of those checks, 11 parolees were found to be in violation and were consequently arrested.

Additionally, a number of officers were assigned to the Orange Line stop to monitor fare compliance. During their enforcement efforts, four arrests were made for outstanding warrants.

Due to the success of the Task Force, there is no doubt that the tremendous efforts of both the officers and agents involved directly impacted the quality of life in the Topanga Area.
