Los Angeles: The Los Angeles
Police Department’s Newton Area Robbery Detectives are seeking the
public’s help to identifying an armed robbery suspect whose image
was caught on surveillance video.

On January 15, 2018, around 8:00 p.m., an armed robbery occurred
at a local mini market in the 5100 block of south Central Avenue.

Victims were sitting near the register located by the entrance of
the market when the suspect entered the market with a handgun and
pointed it at both victims. One victim immediately stood up and
attempted to take the gun from the suspect but instead, a shoving
match ensued. The suspect then pointed the gun back at the
victims and demanded the money from the cash register. One of the
victims fearing for their safety, gave the suspect the money from
the register. The suspect grabbed the money and ran out of the
market.

The suspect is described as a male Black, approximately 5 feet 5
inches tall and weighs around 170 pounds. He has a large
protruding tooth and possibly a gray mustache. He was last seen
wearing black pants and a dark hooded jacket with a gray stripe
on each sleeve and carrying a revolver.
