Los Angeles: In response to inquiries from the media, The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is confirming that it is conducting an investigation into an allegation of sexual assault that has been made against a Los Angeles City employee.

Because of the serious nature of the allegation and for reasons of confidentiality, no names will be released.  The Department will not be making any statements regarding this investigation.  At the conclusion of the investigation the case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office for filing consideration.
