WHO: LAPD Transit Services Division, Homeless Outreach Proactive Engagement Officers Lindsey and Tony Gonzales, “Go Be The 1” Organizers The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

WHY: The community of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is donating $15,000 dollars’ worth of items for welcome home kits in partnership with the LAPD. Welcome Home Kits are designed to assist recently housed families and individuals transition from being homeless. Welcome Home Kits include pots, pans, bedding, toothbrushes, hygiene items, basic household necessities and cleaning items. The event is in place to coordinate the reception of the items and to build approximately 60+ kits. Some volunteers will be assembling kits in boxes during the event time.
