Los Angeles: Los Angeles police and a local family are asking for the public’s help in searching for an autistic teenager who was last seen at 2:30 this morning in North Hollywood.
On May 7, 14-year-old Yannick Atangana wandered away from his parent’s home located in the 5300 block of Corteen Place. Atangana suffers from low-functioning autism. He has a hard time communicating and may not answer if spoken to. Atangana has the tendency to become combative if he’s restrained. He’s also afraid of dogs.
Atangana is described as an African American male with black hair and brown eyes. He stands about 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs about 115 pounds and was last seen wearing a red, white and black striped shirt and brown shorts.
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Atangana is urged to call LAPD’s North Hollywood Station at 818-623-4045. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477). Tipsters may also contact Crimestoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone. All text messages should begin with the letters “LAPD.” Tipsters may also go to LAPDOnline.org, click on "webtips," and follow the prompts.
