WHY:              
To announce the success of a major, seven-month collaborative effort involving several law enforcement agencies, including the Glendale Police Department, LAPD and Southern California Drug Task Force.

Results of the operation, which was partially funded by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, yielded 19 arrests of members from a well known gang on a variety of charges, including murders, assaults, narcotics trafficking and other weapon-related offenses.
