Van Nuys: The Los Angeles Police
Department Van Nuys Gang Enforcement Detail announce the arrest of
a suspect wanted for numerous weapon violations.
On February 26, 2021, around 7 p.m., investigators from the Van
Nuys Gang Enforcement Detail served a search warrant in the 1200
Block of North Sycamore Avenue, in the Hollywood area.
This was the culmination of a three-week long investigation into
the sales of illegal weapons and ghost gun sales to gang members.
The investigation initiated in Van Nuys Area and led investigators
to the Hollywood location. They recovered 13 illegal weapons and
numerous gun making materials that included several unregistered
fully automatic rifles, automatic pistols,short barrel rifles,
several semi-automatic handguns, semi-automatic rifles, several
silencers, large amount of black powder, numerous gun parts and
ammunition.
Also found, were machines used for manufacturing ghost gun parts
and ammunition. In addition, there were several high-capacity rifle
drum magazines that were recovered from the location.
30-year-old Dalton Costahaude was arrested and booked for
Possession of an assault weapon 30605 PC and additional weapon
violations. Costahaude will be arraigned on March 2, 2021, in
Superior Court in Van Nuys. His bail has been set at $300,000
dollars.
