Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department West Bureau Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) responsible for the killing of Louie Rodriguez.
On September 21, 2014, around 12:40 a.m., 54-year-old Louie Rodriguez was riding on a motorized scooter near Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue after attending the annual “Hollywood Music Festival” when he was approached by an unknown suspect. Rodriguez was assaulted and punched by the suspect, causing him to fall backwards and hit his head. The suspect left on foot and the motive for this assault is unknown.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported Rodriguez to a local hospital, where he was admitted. On October 6, 2014 Rodriguez died as a result of his injuries.
The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, approximately 23 years of age, approximately six feet tall, lean build with ear expanders in both ears.
