Man Dies in Shooting

Los Angeles: Sunday morning, February 5, 2006, at 4:30 a.m., LAPD officers responded to a radio call broadcast of an assault with a deadly weapon at the 8500 block of Columbus Avenue. When officers arrived they observed the victim with multiple gun shot wounds to the chest. 
The investigation revealed that the victim and witnesses were standing in front of the location.  Three Hispanic men approached the group and a conversation ensued.  Two of the three Hispanic men pulled out guns and fired at the victim and the group of people.  The suspects left the location in a dark colored, late 90’s, four door, compact car.
The first victim was taken to Holy Cross Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The second victim was hit by gunfire and was released at the scene.
The suspects are described as three Hispanic men about 18-20 years of age.
The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification to the family.
