Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Hollenbeck Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing information that would lead to the identification and arrest of a suspect who shot and killed 28-year-old Ricardo Orozco and wounded his 26-year-old relative.
On April 3, 2012, around 10 p.m., officers responded to a shooting call at Pico Gardens Housing Development. When the officers arrived they learned the two victims of the shooting had been transported to a local hospital by private vehicles. Ricardo Orozco was pronounced dead at the hospital due to multiple gunshot wounds. The second victim was treated for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and listed in stable condition.
Both victims are non-residents of the public housing development where they were shot. The motive for this shooting appears to be gang related.
