Man Killed Over Clock at Yard Sale

"MAN KILLED OVER CLOCK AT YARD SALE"

Mar Vista, Calif.: Pacific homicide detectives are investigating a murder that occurred on Saturday, February 5, 2000, at 7:45 a.m., on the 2700 block of Armacost Ave. Victim, Edward Brennan, 80 years of age, was conducting a yard sale at his residence, when the suspect, later identified as 32-year-old Diane Wood, attempted to steal a clock. Brennan attempted to stop the suspect from fleeing when the suspect ran into Brennan with her vehicle. Brennan was thrown back into the street and suffered massive injuries to his head. The suspect fled and was arrested at her residence approximately seven hours later. The suspect’s vehicle and the stolen clock were recovered at her residence. The victim died as a result of his injuries the next day at approximately 1 p.m.
