Man Murdered in Mid-Town Los Angeles NR11566cj

Los Angeles:   LAPD Olympic Area Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect(s) responsible for the shooting and murder of a Los Angeles man.

On Friday, December 2, 2011, at 8:45 p.m. LAPD Olympic Area patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the 2700 block of West 11th Street.  When the officers arrived, they saw an unconscious man on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds.  Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the man dead at the scene. The victim was later identified as 35-year-old Wilbert Gaitan of Los Angeles.

The detectives say that two men, described as male Hispanics, were seen running from the scene at the time of the shooting.  They entered a green compact import car and drove away from the scene.
