Los Angeles: Two young gunmen shot a South Los Angeles man multiple times in broad daylight.

On July 5, 2007, at about 12:40 PM, the victim, Royce Levine Hollingston, 35, was standing next to a parked car, talking to an elderly woman, in the 9800 block of South Maie Avenue. At least two Black men in their 20s came around the street corner, and one of them pulled out a pistol and began shooting at the victim. The victim attempted to run away from the gunmen and also away from the woman to avoid her being harmed. Unfortunately the victim was struck by the gunfire and collapsed onto the sidewalk. He was taken to a local hospital, but died a short time later as a result of gunshot wounds.

The woman escaped any injuries. The motive for the shooting is currently unknown.
