Man Shot and Killed In Parking Lot

Los Angeles: Pacific Area Homicide detectives are investigating the murder of Jayson Hoff, a 23 year-old, White male, who was shot to death in the rear of an apartment building at 12767 Caswell Avenue in Venice. Hoff was walking from the rear parking lot at approximately 7:35 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2002, when a male suspect walked up to him and shot him with an unknown caliber handgun. The suspect fled in an unknown vehicle, through the alley. Hoff was transported to a local hospital where he died as a result of his wounds.
The motive is known. The suspect has not been identified and the murder weapon is outstanding.
