Los Angeles: West Valley Homicide Detectives are investigating the shooting death of 30 year-old Christopher Richard Wozniak.
On January 22, 2005, at about 1:55 a.m., West Valley officers responded to a shots fired radio call in the 5400 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard in Woodland Hills. The officers were met by a 30 year-old male witness who directed them to Mr. Wozniak.
The witness advised officers that he and the victim drove out of a parking lot and onto Ventura Boulevard, east of Topanga Canyon Boulevard, when three male Hispanics in a black Mercedes pulled up next to them in traffic. The occupants in the Mercedes accused them of cutting them off. The rear seat passenger in the Mercedes pointed a handgun out the window and fired several shots at the victim. The victim was able to navigate the vehicle to the roadside before lapsing into unconsciousness. The Mercedes sped off and was last seen turning north onto Topanga Canyon Boulevard.
Los Angeles City Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim dead.
No suspects have been arrested in this crime.
