Man Shot and Killed on the Sidewalk NR11140rh

Los Angeles:  Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Harbor Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of a suspect who shot and killed 36-year-old Juan Leon in Wilmington.

Last night, around 11:50 p.m., 36-year-old Juan Leon, was standing on the sidewalk located in the 1100 block of Blinn Street when two suspects inside a light-colored car (possible Toyota) drove by heading south on Blinn Street.  The passenger of the car fired multiple rounds at the victim with an unknown handgun, striking him in the upper torso.  The two suspects then drove away and left Leon on the ground suffering from several gunshot wounds.

Leon was transported to a local hospital where he died a short time later from his injuries.

The suspects are described as two male Hispanics.  Detectives have not determined what prompted the shooting.
