Los Angeles: Detectives in Foothill Area are investigating the shooting death of 30 year-old Ricardo Mendoza.
On Friday, March 4, 2005, at about 11:35 p.m., the suspect walked up to Mendoza while he was in a grey Honda outside of 12835 Encitinas Avenue in Sylmar. The suspect started talking to Mendoza, then shot him and ran away.
Ricardo Mendoza, a resident of Los Angeles, died at the scene.
No additional suspect or weapon descriptions are available at this time.
Neither the suspect nor the weapon is in custody.
