Man Shot in Front of a South LA Market Dies Later NR09547ah

Los Angeles: 30-year-old Jermaine Tillman was shot on Nov. 7 while he stood in front of a South Los Angeles business has died from his wounds, detectives said.

Someone inside a vehicle drove by and shot Tillman while he was standing in front of Young’s market located at 701 East Manchester Avenue about 5:45 p.m.  The victim was struck and collapsed in the parking lot.  He was rushed to a local hospital where he was placed on life support.  He died on Nov. 12.

Detectives believe that a man walked out of the store and entered a black or green two-door unidentified vehicle.  As the car was leaving, a gunman inside the vehicle pulled out a handgun and open fired on the victim.  The vehicle sped off and was last seen traveling north on Stanford Avenue near Manchester Avenue.

The shooting is gang related and the suspects remain at large.  Investigators have few leads and described the suspects only as African American.
