Man Shot in Gas Station Parking Lot NR22164ne

Van Nuys: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Bureau Homicide are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect responsible for the murder of 31-year-old Rene Hernandez a resident of Panorama City.

On June 11, 2022, around 1:20 a.m., Van Nuys patrol officers responded to a radio call of a shooting at the 7200 block of Woodman Avenue.

When the officers arrived, they discovered the victim in the parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded to render aid; however, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation revealed the victim had arrived at the gas station and was approached by a male Hispanic, who produced a gun and fired multiple times at the victim. The suspect ran to a pickup truck parked nearby and fled the location.

No arrests have been made. Detectives believe the incident is gang related.
