"Man Shot While Sitting in a Parked Car"

Los Angeles – On Sunday, August 6, 2000, at approximately 10:45 p.m., Victim Jonathan Willis, male Black, 20 years of age, was sitting inside a parked vehicle located on the 600 block of east 115th Street. An unknown number of suspects approached the drivers-side window and fired several rounds from a handgun, striking Willis in the upper torso. He was transported to an area hospital by an acquaintance, and is currently listed in stable condition.

The motive for this shooting appears to be gang related.
