Man Stabbed to Death in Mid-City NR22071dm

Los Angeles: On March 11, 2022, around 2:55 a.m., Wilshire Area officers responded to a radio call of a Hit and Run traffic collision at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and La Brea Avenue. Two vehicles were at the scene. One vehicle had two occupants, who were not seriously injured. The other vehicle was not occupied.

Approximately one block away, a victim of a stabbing was discovered. That victim, a male in his 30’s, was transported by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Additionally, there was a radio call of a burglary in the area. Officers responded to that location and a suspect was detained.

It was determined that the suspect in the burglary radio call was involved in the stabbing. Rolando Maura was arrested and booked for 187(a) PC–Murder, with a bail of $2,000,000.00 (Booking #6339967). Detectives are trying to determine if and how the stabbing and Hit and Run traffic collision are related.
