Los Angeles: On Friday, May 28, 2004, at 8:00 p.m., the media is invited to attend the roll call of a multi-agency task force assembled to eliminate cruising and violent gang activity on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.
Police officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood Area Community Police Station, Gang Impact Team and West Traffic Division will collaborate with the California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to focus on creating a lasting solution towards cruiser problems and gang activity.
The mission of the united task force is to reduce the fear and incidence of crime and to improve the quality of life for the business and residential communities bordering Sunset Boulevard.
The strategy to accomplish the mission includes aggressive enforcement of all criminal and traffic laws, to use crime prevention tactics and the facilitation of safe flow of traffic.
The task force will concentrate on Sunset Boulevard between La Brea Avenue and Havenhurst Drive, and will continue to enforce the targeted area every Friday and Saturday night until Saturday, September 4, 2004.
