Mid-City Shooting Leaves One Man Dead NR21130jl

Mid-City: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Bureau Homicide are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect responsible for killing a man.

On Friday, May 14, 2021, around 4:00 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department Wilshire Officers responded to a call of shots fired with a victim down near Mascot Street and Longwood Avenue in Mid-City.

The officers arrived and were directed to a male adult victim who had suffered gunshot wounds. A resident was providing first aid. The Los Angeles Fire Department rushed the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.

The circumstances and motive for this homicide are unknown. The suspect vehicle was described as a dark sedan that left Eastbound on Mascot Street.
