"Missing 12-Year-Old in South Central"

Los Angeles – On Friday, May 18, 2001, at approximately 9:30 p.m., 12-year-old Odyssey Austin was reported missing. Austin is considered at risk because of her age.
Odyssey was left at home with her 17-year-old brother while her mother went to the store. Odyssey was last observed in her bedroom at approximately 9:00 p.m. by her brother. Her mother returned home at approximately 9:30 p.m. and discovered she was missing.
Odyssey has run-away in the pass with friends, and stayed away for approximately five days. The mother contacted some friends of Odyssey’s and was told that she was last seen in the company of an older male adult, unknown and unrelated to the family.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Odyssey should contact Southwest Area Watch Commander at 213-485-2582.
All questions about Odyssey should be directed to her parents, who are willing to speak to the media.
