Los Angeles: The family of Lawayda Johnson and the Los Angeles Police Department requests the public’s assistance in locating Johnson.
Johnson was last seen on October 8, 2011 in the Ralphs parking lot at Manchester Avenue and Western Avenue in the city of Los Angeles, when she walked away from her grandmother’s car. Johnson is a resident of Palmdale, but was visiting family in the Los Angeles area. Johnson’s family is very concerned for her safety due to a serious medical condition. Johnson does not know anyone in the Los Angeles area other than her family.
The family received a phone call from Johnson on October 13, 2011. Johnson apparently told them she was with a male friend and she was okay. Johnson also sent a text message with a photo of an unknown man. Johnson’s family did not recognize the man.
Johnson is described as a 32-year-old African American woman. She has brown hair and brown eyes. She stands 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs around 175 pounds. Johnson was last seen wearing a burgundy blouse, blue jeans and black shoes. The family says she may have dyed her hair red recently.
