Multi-Vehicle Collision Results in Two Fatalities NR22314rc

UPDATE

On October 22, 2022, at around 9:35 p.m., The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division detectives arrested and booked 20-year-old, Alexander Ceballos (Booking No.6488110), a resident of Panorama City for 187 (A)PC-Murder. His bail amount was set at $4,010,000.

Ceballos is currently in a local hospital.

This case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Northridge: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division detectives are investigating a multi-vehicle collision, in which two passengers died from their injuries.

On October 22, 2022, at around 5:35 p.m., a black 2007 Honda CRV was travelling at a high rate of speed southbound Reseda Boulevard south of San Fernando Mission Boulevard when it veered into northbound lanes and collided with a black 2012 Toyota Venza, and a black 2015 Volkswagen Jetta. The Honda CRV then collided with a vehicle parked along the curb on Reseda Boulevard.

The Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and extricated occupants from all the vehicles involved. There was a total of six occupants inside the Honda CRV, one of the occupants inside the Honda CRV succumbed to his injuries at scene, another occupant from the same vehicle died at the hospital. Both deceased passengers are believed to be juveniles and their names will not be released until next-of-kin has been notified.

There were three occupants inside the Toyota Venza and one occupant inside the Volkswagen Jetta. They were all transported with moderate injuries to the hospital and are expected to recover.

The driver of the Honda CRV was injured as a result of the collision and was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. He will be facing criminal charges upon being released from the hospital.

Drivers are reminded not to drive under the influence of any intoxicant, to drive at a safe speed, and obey all the rules of the road. Reckless driving behavior carries serious consequences.
