Multi Victim Shooting in Pacific Division NR21218ml

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Pacific Area detectives are investigating a multi- victim shooting that occurred near a homeless encampment around the Ballona Wetlands on Jefferson Boulevard between Culver Boulevard and Lincoln Boulevard.

On Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at approximately 5:40 a.m., numerous 9-1-1 calls of a shooting in progress were generated. Prior to the officer’s arrival, four male victims had been shot and were transported to the hospital.

All victims were hospitalized and were listed in stable condition. All victims are believed to be people experiencing homelessness. However, the shooting does not appear to be related to this fact.

There is no suspect information. The incident does not appear to be gang or drug related.

The investigation is ongoing.
