Northridge: The investigation revealed that the victims were in the area to meet with friends when two male suspects approached and attempted to rob them. As the victims fled, the suspects fired multiple rounds into the vehicle, fatally striking Ms. De La Rosa.
Over the few days following the murder, the Los Angeles Police Department / FBI Fugitive Task Force, Devonshire Area Gang Enforcement Detail, Mission Area Gang Enforcement Detail, and Valley Bureau Section homicide detectives identified and took two suspects into custody.
Formal charges from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office have been filed.
· Francisco Gaytan, a 27-year old male from North Hills, CA, was charged with California Penal Codes 187: Murder with Special Circumstances (during the commission of a robbery); and 664 / 211: Attempted Robbery. His booking number is 7132337 and he is being held without bail.
· Benny Lincon Gomez, a 27-year old male from North Hills, CA, was charged with California Penal Codes 187: Murder with Special Circumstances (during the commission of a robbery); and, 664 / 211: Attempted Robbery. His booking number is 7132756 and he is being held without bail.

Northridge: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division, Valley Section, is currently investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a female victim.
On Saturday, November 22, 2025, around 1:25 a.m., gunshots were heard in the area of Bryant Street east of Tampa Avenue in Northridge. Witnesses described seeing two male suspects approach a vehicle that was parked on Bryant Street. Multiple rounds were fired at several victims who were parked in the area in their vehicle. One victim, later identified as 22-year-old Maria De La Rosa, sustained gunshot wounds, and later succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital.
The motive for the shooting is unclear and no arrests have been made.
