Murder Suspect Arrested

The Los Angeles Police Department, Hollenbeck Operations Support Division, will be holding a press conference to announce the arrest of Man Cooc Duong for the murder of Linda Au.

Los Angeles: On Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at 6:00 p m, Mr. Man Cooc Duong, 53 years of age, surrendered himself to the authorities at Hollenbeck Police Station. Mr. Duong was wanted for the murder of Linda Au.
On Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at 6:00 p m, Mr. Man Cooc Duong, 53 years of age, surrendered himself to the authorities at Hollenbeck Police Station. Mr. Duong was wanted for the murder of Linda Au.
Ms. Au was found by her mother on Sunday, April 14, 2002, at approximately 12:35 a.m., at her residence, located in the 3200 block of Baldwin Avenue. She was found in a closet, under a bundle of clothes.
Detectives conducting the investigation identified Mr. Duong as the suspect, and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
This case received wide media coverage, and it is believed that that coverage helped convince the suspect to turn himself in. Man Cooc Duong was booked for murder at Parker Center. He is being held without bail.
Captain Anita Ortega, Commanding Officer, Hollenbeck Operation Support Division, will conduct the press conference and will thank the media for their assistance.
