Van Nuys: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Bureau Homicide announce the arrest of 37-year-old, Pedro Rodriguez for Murder.
On June 28, 2021, around 2:30 a.m., Mission Area officers responded to a radio call of "Assault with a Deadly Weapon, suspect there now" near the 8100 block of Langdon Avenue. Upon arrival they discovered the victim deceased on the floor behind the door of the apartment. The victim appeared to have suffered multiple blunt force traumatic injuries.
Witnesses at scene provided the identity of the suspect and eyewitness accounts of his actions which lead to the victim’s death. The suspect fled the scene before the police arrived but was later apprehended at his residence near the 6700 block of Havenhurst Avenue. The investigation revealed that the suspect attacked the victim, assaulting him with his hands, as well as various items from around the apartment. The killing appears to have been domestic/family violence related.
The victim is a 36-year-old male Hispanic and his name is currently being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
Rodriguez was booked at LAPD Van Nuys jail for 187(A) (1) PC- Murder, with a Booking Number 6205358.
