Murder Suspect Arrested NR23026dm

Los Angeles: On Monday, January 9, 2023, around 3:15 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department Rampart Area uniformed patrol officers responded to a radio call of an Assault with a Deadly Weapon in the 600 block of South Alvarado Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, Nicholas Garcia of Los Angeles, had suffered a stab wound to his chest. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported Mr. Garcia to a local hospital. He died at the hospital from his injuries.

Los Angeles Police Department Central Bureau Homicide detectives assumed investigative responsibility. Their investigation revealed that the suspect and victim appeared to have been involved in a physical altercation. During the altercation, the suspect stabbed Mr. Garcia in the chest, then fled on foot.

The detectives’ investigation resulted in the identification of the suspect in this incident. On February 8, 2023, personnel from the LAPD/FBI Fugitive Task Force located the suspect, Alexander Adams, in the City of Long Beach and took him into custody. Adams was booked for 187(a) PC – Murder (Booking #6549273). On February 9, 2023, the case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. One count of 187(a) PC – Murder, was filed.
