WHY:            
Will announce the addition of new canines trained to detect a moving person carrying explosives at Los Angeles International Airport  

The canines joined the force after the Mayor directed LAPD and Los Angeles World Airport Police to conduct a security review of LAX consistent with the President’s direction to “aggressively pursue enhanced screening technology, protocols, and procedures” in the aviation sector following the failed 2009 Christmas Day terrorist attack.
PARKING:   
Media vehicles displaying valid LAX Media Parking Permit may park curbside on the upper/departures level between TBIT and Terminals 3 and 4 (vehicles must be attended at all times). All other media may park in parking structures 3 and 4 (bring parking ticketfor validation at event).
