What:A News Conference announcing joint enforcement of traffic laws by the LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division (VTD) and the Department of Transportation (DOT) at locations throughout the San Fernando Valley.
Sites of focus will be those where motorists experience the most congestion during commuting hours.

Why:Between July 15, 2005, and July 22, 2005, VTD officers have issued more than 300 citations for a variety of violations, including gridlock.  DOT has simultaneously provided enforcement to facilitate effective traffic flow in the San Fernando Valley.  Valley Traffic Division and DOT officers will continue to conduct aggressive enforcement at select locations.
